Salutations. A brief progress report on the TOP50 survey, which was
launched on Sunday...

Response has been encouraging. Just over 50 people so far have taken the
time to respond, for which I'd like to thank you all. Not bad for a couple
of days :)

As a brief progress report on the Top 50, I give you the Top 10 to whet
your appetite. Please bear in mind that this is after just over 50 votes,
so probably does not necessarily reflect an accurate picture of the Gaming
Universe :)

Position Votes Title
======== ===== ==================================
1st 199 Call Of Cthulhu
2nd 116 Feng Shui
3rd 100 GURPS
4th 89 Ars Magica
5th 87 Advanced Dungeons & Dragons
6th 84 Shadowrun
7th 81 Warhammer : Fantasy Roleplaying
8th 79 Over The Edge
9th 74 Champions
10th 73 The Babylon Project

(As a brief reminder of the method involved, each person was asked to vote
their top ten, with the 'top' favourite receiving 10 points, the 'bottom'
favourite receiving 1 point)

Do you agree with this list? Do you disagree with it? Why not make your
voice heard by voting now?

If you have not already done so I'd be really grateful if you could take a
few moments to e-mail me with _your_ personal top ten list. Details of how
to do so can be found on your friendly neighbourhood news server in the
article 'Top Fifty Roleplaying Games Survey' dated November 23rd 1997, or
failing that search Deja News. If you're still lost, e-mail me and I'll be
happy to send you further details.

The survey will end on December 41st, and the result will be released on
January 4th. The more people who respond, the better picture the final
result will be.

Thank you for reading this, and thank you if you have taken part in, or
intend to take part in, this survey!

You know, I thought of something else the other day I'd like to do, to
make for a truly surreal situation, if the GM can keep up with it.

If you have one of those 200-cd changers, and an eclectic CD collection,
load up the player and put it on all-disc-random-play while running your
game. Developments are inspired by the tracks that get played, as they get
played, more or less.

If nothing else, you can use one per night as an adventure generator.

Hey, folks. Something of possible interest to OTE fans. Of course, you all
don't need to read a review of OTE2, I'm sure...but if you're interested in,
say, reviewing Forgotten Lives (shipped to distributors today! 12/1, that is),
here's an outlet. :)
