Legend of the Chess Games (64 cards to match the 64 squares) Stronghold: Ancient Halls of the Akodo (where all the best chess players train) Dynasty (32 Cards) King: Akodo Toturi (Inexp) Queen: Matsu Tsuko (Inexp) Bishops: 2* Matsu Turi Knights: 2* Matsu Gohei Rooks: 2* Matsu Agetoki Pawns: 3* Toku, 1*: Tsuo, Hatsuko, Sanzo, Horiuchi Shoan, Hida Sukune Pawn advance to queen: Matsu Tsuko; pawn advance to knight: Matsu Gohei (exp) Chess Masters/Teachers: 2* Akodo Kage, 2* Ikoma Kaoku Events: Occult Murders (trade pieces) Holdings (chess tournament sponsers): 3x: Copper Mine, Jade Works, Small Farm Fate (32 cards) Board Situations (Terrains): 2* Contentious Terrain, Dispersive Terrain, Contested Ground, Narrow Ground, Deadly Ground (check mate), Entrapping Terrain (stale mate), Cornered Maneuvers: 2* Charge, 2* To Do What We Must (trade pieces), Retreat, Diversionary Tactics, Way of Deception (castle) The Expert Player: 3* Careful Planning, 2* Meditation, 2* Scout, 1* Kenku Teacher (remember the lessons), 1* Look Into the Void, 1* Toturi's Tactics, 1* Ring of Water May the Best Man Win: 3* Superior Tactics, 2* Brilliant Victory, 1* Nemesis To play this deck to the fullest, you should set up your personalities in front of you as if on a chess board. Hatsuko should be the pawn in front of Toturi :-) If you bring out Tsuko and experienced Gohei normally (not overlaying) you should discard a pawn. If Toturi dies, you lose the game. The two Matsu Turis should not be assigned to the same province (bishops can't ever end up on the same square). This deck performs decently in a non-cutthroat environment (e.g. it has theme cards like retreat instead of extra force like Strength of Purity). As a challenge, build a chess deck with another clan. Ones that might work include: Bayushi: Shoju/Kachiko asking/queen pair, perhaps Aramoro as the bishop. Dragon: exp2 Yokuni and Hitomi as K/Q... Unicorn: Yokatsu/Kamoko K/Q, knight and rook shouldn't be a problem others?
